26 June 2025
Pages on Stages was proud to provide press coverage for Rise NY and Playbill’s joint event, “RISE UP. LIVE LOUD.” The event featured LGBTQ+ pride performances sung from the torch of lady liberty adorning Rise NY’s midtown Manhattan museum.

The event was intimate, with an energized crowd on the street below. A raffle was held benefiting Heritage of Pride, and prizes were read off by event host and 2025 NYC Pride Grand Marshall Marti Gould Cummings with a brief appearance by Jackie Cox.

The Rise NY museum itself contains a short film, several galleries primarily devoted to the cultural development coming to life in NYC, a soaring ride celebrating the beauty of New York from above, and a nifty gift shop.
Performances from today’s event can be found below. Please note that not all performances were captured in full.
- Mario Cantone, “I’m Gonna Live Until I Die”
- Mario Cantone, “Looking for Love”
- Sandra Valls, “Like the Way I Do”
- Sandra Valls, “Damn, Your Eyes”
- Lissa DeGuzman and Jennafer Newberry, “For Good”
- Anthony Rapp, “True Colors” (blocked by YouTube for copyright claims; Pages on Stages is working to get this video up and apologizes for the delay)
I attended this event on a press pass from JT Public Relations.
